Bell Blue is exiting the show next year after 19 years on the job; D.J. Petroro, who is Bell Blue’s No. 2, and Linda Fuller will be taking the reins of the show, CBS Television Distribution made official today.
Blue, who has spent 19 years as executivep producer of the iconic syndicated Hollywood-centric show, has signed a multi-year deal to transition into a new role as president of the newly created Entertainment Tonight Studios. In her new gig, Bell Blue will oversee the creation of ET-branded series and specials for cable, broadcast and digital platforms. During her nearly two decades on the show, she has executive produced numerous CBS primetime television specials, as well as the ABC reunion special, Entertainment Tonight Presents: Laverne & Shirley Together Again, and the recently produced Entertainment Tonight Presents: The Katy Perry Experience for TVGN, and for the OWN Network. She also tapped into the ET library to produce four ET-branded specials focusing on weight, plastic surgery, unsolved mysteries, and scandals and drug use in Hollywood.
Bell Blue, who joined ET after executive producing Hard Copy and, prior to that, KCBS-TV news in Los Angeles, also has served as executive producer of the nightly half-hour magazine omg! INSIDER (formerly The Insider) which premiered in 2004.
Petroro and Fuller are CBS veterans. In 2004, Petroro joined CBS Television Distribution and helped launch The Insider as senior producer and writer, and was upped to co-executive producer in 2006, until moving to Entertainment Tonight in September of ’12. Fuller joined ET in 1989 as an associate director before rapidly becoming a director; Prior to joining ET, Fuller worked at ABC News, 20/20 and Good Morning America/World News This Morning in New York.
