Amy Brenneman Joins 'Reign' As Mary Stuart's Mother
"Private Practice" star Amy Brenneman is joining "Reign." Benneman will play Mary Stuart's mother on the CW historical drama. Brenneman, who played Dr. Violet Turner on "Private Practice" and the title character Amy Gray on "Judging Amy" from 1999-2005, joins the series as Marie de Guise. In real life, Marie de Guise was the second wife of King James V, and the mother of Mary Stuart (also known as Mary Queen of Scots) played by Adelaide Kane on the series.
