KANSAS CITY - For two decades, Major League Soccer’s been a bit of a misnomer. Half-empty stadiums and half-hearted media coverage, quite frankly, saw MLS smothered to near-extinction during the early 2000s as it attempted to keep up with North America’s “Big Four.” In summary, there was nothing “major” about it. Now, in places like Portland, Salt Lake and Seattle, the league has a “major” feel.
